ANNOUNCEMENT: Leadership Transition for JANANY

14 October 2025

The American Nurses Association – New York (ANA-NY) is honored to recognize Dr. Edmund J. Pajarillo for his outstanding leadership and dedication as the founding Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of the American Nurses Association – New York (JANANY).

After more than five years of distinguished service, Dr. Pajarillo will be transitioning from his role as Editor-in-Chief. In recognition of his lasting contributions and commitment to advancing nursing scholarship across New York State, ANA-NY proudly names him Editor Emeritus of JANANY.

Under Dr. Pajarillo’s leadership, JANANY has grown into a respected publication that amplifies the voice of New York’s nursing community, celebrates research and innovation, and promotes the professional development of nurses throughout the state.

We are delighted to announce that Dr. Amanda Brown will assume the role of Editor-in-Chief of JANANY. Dr. Brown brings a strong background in nursing education, research, and editorial excellence, and we look forward to her continuing and expanding upon Dr. Pajarillo’s vision for the journal.

Together, we celebrate this exciting new chapter and remain committed to advancing the mission of JANANY, supporting nursing scholarship, leadership, and excellence across New York State.
