Graduate nursing students may soon face lower federal loan caps under a new Department of Education proposal, and nursing is currently excluded from the definition of “professional degree” programs. The American Nurses Association is actively advocating to ensure nursing is included in the “professional degree” definition. ANA is:

- Submitting formal comments to the Department of Education
- Preparing a coordinated response for the public comment period
- Elevating the voices and stories of nurses impacted by graduate student loan caps
