2026 ANA-NY Awards Nominations

Recognizing Excellence in Nursing Across New York State

ANA-New York is proud to open nominations for the 2026 ANA-NY Awards. Each year, we honor nurses whose leadership, scholarship, innovation, and dedication strengthen the profession and improve health outcomes throughout New York State.

If you know a nurse whose work has made a meaningful impact, we encourage you to submit a nomination.

Award Categories

Nursing Education Award

The ANA-NY Nursing Education Award recognizes a nurse educator who has significantly influenced nursing education through innovation, curriculum development, evidence-based teaching strategies, and mentorship.

Criteria:

  • At least five (5) years of full-time experience as a nurse educator in an academic setting

  • At least a Master’s degree in nursing

  • Demonstrated evidence of significant contributions to innovations in teaching and learning, faculty development, and curriculum design

  • Acted as a mentor and role model for junior faculty and/or students

Nursing Practice – Later Career Award

The ANA-NY Nursing Practice Award recognizes excellence in direct patient care by a nurse at any level of practice (RN, APRN, or nurse administrator). The recipient exemplifies compassion, expertise, and sustained professional leadership.

Criteria:

  • At least five (5) years of full-time experience as a nurse clinician

  • At least a Bachelor’s degree in nursing

  • Demonstrated contribution to improved quality of patient care

  • Recognized for excellence in practice

  • Modeled holistic, culturally sensitive care

Scholarship Award

The ANA-NY Scholarship Award recognizes a nurse who has made significant contributions to the scholarship of discovery, integration, teaching, and/or application. The scholarship must be peer-reviewed and disseminated beyond the local and state level.

Criteria:

  • Publication of at least ten (10) peer-reviewed articles or chapters within the last five (5) years

  • Demonstrated impact of scholarship on practice, education, administration, or policy

  • Recognized thought leadership (e.g., keynote speaker, award-winning publication)

  • Demonstrated mentorship in area of expertise

Hall of Fame Award

The ANA-NY Hall of Fame Award recognizes a member who has made sustained, life-long contributions to ANA-NY and to the profession of nursing in New York State.

Criteria:

    • Consistent record of outstanding leadership affecting health and well-being in New York State

    • Recognized and respected leader in nursing and healthcare

    • Impact at the state level at minimum (may include national or global impact)

    • Contributions of enduring value to the profession

Eligibility Requirements
  • Nominee must be a Registered Professional Nurse (RN)

  • Must practice or have practiced in New York State

  • Must be a current ANA-NY member (unless otherwise noted)

  • Current ANA-NY Directors are not eligible
How to Submit a Nomination
  1. Review the award criteria carefully.
  2. Complete the nomination form.
  3. Submit all required supporting documentation before the deadline.
